2013 Mountain Valley Kids Fest

(Child Advocacy Day)

We are hoping to find some folks out there that might be doing some spring cleaning and are coming up with some items that are getting in the way, not being used and thinking of a way to get rid of it. During the Mountain Valley Kids Fest the Eagles are holding a Big Yard Sale with slots available for purchase at $20 each or you can donate items for our table for which all sales will go to the Area Youth Groups participating in this day's event.  The Kids would certainly appreciate it.

While the yard sale is going on, over in the Eagles Function Hall there will be stations set up with programs to promote the good health and well being for our youth.  Videos will be shown on topics for internet safety. bullying and other safety concerns.  There will be face painting, games, bounce tent along with a food tent.  check out the link below for more info

Law Enforcement, EMT and Firefighter Membership Program

and now extended to include all honorably discharged servicemen

On Sept. 1, 2008, the Fraternal Order of Eagles began offering free memberships to law enforcement officers, military police, firefighters and emergency medical technicians throughout the U.S. and Canada.  On June 1,2011 that offer was expanded to include all honorably discharged military personnel.

This is a program that welcomes into our fold all of the folks who keep our communities safe. Upon being proposed for membership in an Eagles Aerie or Ladies Auxiliary by two current members, the applicants will be voted on and, if accepted, initiated as new members. No dues will be required for the first year of membership. It is our token of gratitude for their outstanding service. Last year, 3,000 new members took advantage of our offer – and we’re quite happy to expand it on June 1 to members of the military who have been honorably discharged.

For more info, call Fred Allen at 739-9798 or I can be emailed at

Dues are due January 1st each year. As of January 1st, 2013, dues for the Rumford Eagles Aerie #1248 are $20 per year. During the Eagles International Convention in Michigan this past summer due to higher cost and dwindling bank accounts, the delegates had to vote to raise the per capita taxes due yearly from each local Aerie. Because of that action it was necessary for the Rumford Aerie to raise it's dues from $15 a year to $20 a year beginning January 1st, 2013. This action only affects the Aerie and the Auxilliary dues will remain the same.  Please make an effort to maintain your membership by paying your dues as soon as possible.

Past Time to think about 2013 Dues

If you haven't paid your 2013 dues, your membership was dropped . To renew you must now pay $25 and fill out another application.  You will not have to repeat going through another initiation.

Membership dues are due on or before January 1st.  Dues are $20 per year for Aerie and $15 for Auxilliary.  Members who are not paid by April 15th will be dropped.  To be reinstated a $25 fee Aerie, $20 fee Auxilliary and new application must be competed in order to get back into the club.  Dues can be paid to the bartender at the club or mailed to the club to the address below.
